What we offer at Bainfield Park

Facilities

Bainfield Park is situated on an attractive elevated setting of 9 acres on the outskirts of Invercargill.  The property is well established as bushlands to the south, with sprawling lawns leading to farmland to the North.

Our location enables us to be close to all city facilities including a shopping centre, supermarket, churches, doctors and public transportation.  We do however, also have the advantage of the tranquility of our rural setting without close neighbours and city hustle and bustle.

The entire building has an approved sprinkler, smoke detection and fire evacuation system for added protection and staff are available 24 hours per day to meet the needs of the residents.

Communal lounges and dining areas are enjoyed by our residents, but some may prefer to have quiet time-out in their own rooms occasionally.

Residents Rooms

A variety of living arrangements are available.

• 2 self contained flats, which are separate from our main building, but co-joined with an easy access walkway.  Residents in the flats generally visit the “Home” for meals, medications and daily review but maintain as much independence as possible.
• 4  studio units with ensuites for more independent ( but supported ) living for individuals who desire more space and require a little less intensive support / oversight.
• Approximately 50 single rooms with built in furniture and vanity units.  Some rooms are situated in our newly built wing, and have either a shared ensuite bathroom between every 2 rooms – or completely private ensuite facilities. These new rooms are large, and can accommodate more lounge furniture, computer desks etc.
• Nurse-call bells in all bedrooms, bathrooms, a number of lounge areas for socializing.
• TV points in all bedrooms. Telephone points in all newly built rooms in readiness for you to have a phone connected if you wish.
• Because we understand that the Residents rooms are a very private and personal space – no-one shares a room at Bainfield Park.
• Residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms by bringing in belongings and furniture from home if they wish.
• Soft furnishings and bed linen are provided although some prefer to use their own.
• Fully furnished rooms are available.
• Disabled access bathrooms are strategically located near all bedrooms for residents convenience and comfort.

NB:   While each resident is allocated a room on arrival – circumstances may mean that room placements could alter following consultation with the resident.
